4th of July inh New Suffolk, LI, NY
This was a wonderful day, Sunny and full of people and dogs celebrating the birthday or our country. I have such pride in America, now that I live here. As you know I was in Mexico for the first few years of my life and it was not that comfortable and I did not have the family that I have now. Aside from Karin I now know my Uncle Hans and Aunt Angela and of Course my cousin Freddie.... What a swell dog he is. He is sort of like a larger version of me but much nicer. Just ask my Aunt Angela, she will tell you I'm a brat..... Okay, I'm still in-training and have a lot to learn, but I do know that Freddie does eat a lot better than I do. He has someone who bakes him peanut butter cookies as well as other tasty snacks.... And Aunt Angela puts all sorts of good things in Freddie's dish. I will eat anything and I guess everyone caught on quickly and I just get plain food, so I hang around Freddie's dish to see if there are any leftovers..... Not a bad gig....... I love visiting Long Island, there is so much to do here squirrels to chase and bunnies as well as birds and ground hogs and the there is my cousin Freddie who likes to play with me everyday.... We are lucky to have each other..... More later.... I think I will take a genuine dog nap .

Okay, the night before the trip back to the East Coast Tuesday, May 26th, I slept part of the time in my travel bag I was so excited about the trip. The AIRPLANE ride was really nice. I was able to look out the window some of the time. The passengers on either side of Karin really liked me and held me most of the trip. I sure could get used to this.
Once in Washington DC. I was left unattended with Freddy my cousin the standard Poodle, while the humans went to attend the Graduation. We had the run of the house, well maybe it was just the sunroom, because the cleaning people were coming to do their work. Anyway, Freddy and I get along just great, he's really a nice dog, he thinks that he is a person, but don't we all have our little quirks.

On Saturday May 29th we had a family gathering along with many graduating students and friends to celebrate Henry John Kahwaty III's graduation from High School it was really nice and a distant cousin came from Germany to stay with a host family and was able to come to the gathering as well. As you can see from the picture, Freddy and I do look a bit alike, it must be the hair.

This is Freddie, he is my cousin and I am staying at his house for my summer vacation. He has a pool although he does not go in the pool, he goes in the ocean every chance that he gets. He loves to chase rocks and play at the beach. Sounds like fun hope he shows me how to jump in the ocean...... I've never done that before. Does he have treats for me?
Okay, Regi is drinking wine and maybe this would be a good time to tell her to help me I don't know if I want to fly on an airplane so maybe she could put in a good word for me. Maybe she can tell Kain that it's not a good ides. No, no Regi why are you saying that it is going to be a fun adventure.... What are you thinking. Oh well, I guess my bag will be packed and I will be going to Baltimore on the 27th of May.... I should be more excited..... Help!
This is my favorite group of friends..... From the left Jack, Pia who is the most wonderful friend a dog or person could have, Ginger, I call her Gingerale because that drives her crazy and then of course there is Diesel my best pal on the planet. He just loves it when I come over and visit. I will be going on a long vacation to the East Coast and I am going to miss my friends, but Karin wants me to keep her company, so sometimes you just have to suck it up and do what you have to do.... My life is paradise with my special favorite group of friends.... I just want them to know that I will be thinking about them often. I just love them so.... Did I mention that when I visit I get treats!
